Skills Canada NWT Career Expo 2013

2014 Career Expo

Tuesday, May 6th, 2014  10:00 am - 4:00 pm

@ St. Patrick High School / Kimberlite Career & Technical Centre

@Sir John Franklin High School / Akaitcho Trades & Technical Centre

The annual North Slave Career Expo will once again be held in conjunction with Skills Canada NWT and its NWT Skills Competition. You are invited to participate as an exhibitor at this dynamic event.

This one day event is a wonderful opportunity for your organization to gain exposure with youth, educators and the general public. It is the perfect venue to educate potential future employees on the benefits of working for your organization or in your field.

Your main audience will be students in Grades 6 -12 from the North Slave region. They will be most interested in an engaging exhibit with interactive activities – things they can touch, try on, operate or put together. Interactive exhibits are a fun way to explore future career paths and make your booth memorable.

Throughout the day, Skills Canada NWT will be hosting its 16th Annual NWT Skills Competition in the same venues. These competitions showcase the “best of the best” high school students and apprentices as they compete in 20 areas of trades and technology. The competitions allow visiting students to see firsthand what some of the trades are all about.

We look forward to your participation at Career Expo 2014. Please fill in the attached registration form and return it as soon as possible by fax to 873-8197. If you have any questions or require more information, please contact Sylvie LeFort, Events Coordinator, Skills Canada NWT at: (867) 873-8743 or email skillsnt.events@skillscanada.com.

The Career Expo is coordinated by the GNWT Department of Education, Culture and Employment. All proceeds go directly to the Skills Canada NWT program.

Based on the success of previous years, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss!
