What is a skills club?
Skills Clubs are typically offered to high school aged students, and the goal is to allow student participants to explore and learn more about a particular skill, trade, or technology area. Clubs include weekly two-hour sessions over a period of 8 to 24 weeks.
Students who participate in Skills Clubs often register to compete at the Skills Canada NWT Territorial Competition, and may advance to the annual Skills Canada National Competition. Skills Canada NWT funds and supports extra curricular skills clubs for youth across the Northwest Territories. Skills Clubs are organized by community volunteers with an interest and expertise in a particular skill, trade or technology.
